Self-Portrait: 1-1-13
My dad gifted me a giant 11x14 sketchbook for my birthday. 2013 is shaping up to represent a lot to me; a time in my life that will be marked by getting my shit together towards the direction I want to take in life. I penciled this is in 10 minutes and I could only see rawness of the life I’m living at the moment.
Also, a picture of what I used to paint and ink. This is my first piece using a bamboo brush.

Finn the Human Rises by Dave Zissou
This is for the Adventure Time t-shirt design contest at We Love Fine judged by Pendleton Ward, Mama Ward, and Pancake the Cat. I decided to play with the Batman Cowl we’d make with our hands over our faces when we were young in regards to Finn’s similarities to The Dark Knight when silhouetted. Jake served as a device to provoke a stronger response and the coloring/light source is intended to suggest BMO outside of the illustration.
