Liberté! by Dave Zissou

This is for my friend Raymond’s zine. The objective was to do anything you wanted with a postcard from a collection of Penguin Books covers. I was handed the card featuring cover art by Charles Raymond for “A Severed Head.” I chose to build upon the theme of severing the burden of the mind from the pleasures of the body. This was done mostly in water color, ink, and opaque white with a colored pitt brush and pencil to touch things up. FUN!
